But Spanish Blog – Android Jefe has discovered a new way to read those deleted messages after complete deletion by the user.The logic behind the operation is that when you delete messages from WhatsApp, it does get erased from the log only but it stays in the system registry. To read the delete messages, you need a smartphone with Android Marshmallow or higher and an app named Notification History available in Play Stores. If you have Nova Launcher, it will also do the job perfectly with stock Android running.
Steps To Read Deleted WhatsApp Messages
#1 Using Notification History App –
Step 1. Install Notification History app from Play Store and then launch it. Step 2. Locate WhatsApp within the app and under Notification Log, you will find all the conversations. Select the conversation where you deleted messages. Step 3. Then locate ‘android.text’ on the screen and you will see the deleted message in that line. Using Nova Launcher – Step 1. If you have Nova Launcher installed, long tap on the home screen and select Widgets. Step 2. Long press on ‘Activities’ and within Activities, locate Settings and then tap on the inverted triangle icon. Step 3. You will see a drop-down list, and you have to select Notification Log. Step 4. Locate WhatsApp within Notification Log and select the conversation to find the deleted messages where ‘android.text’ is written.
#2 Using Stock Launcher –
You can also use the stock launcher to see the deleted messages of WhatsApp if your Android is Marshmallow or above. It is exactly the same way as it Nova Launcher. Step 1. Long press on the home screen and select Widgets. Step 2. Within Widgets, locate Settings and long press on it to open a drop-down list. Step 3. Select Notification log from the list and move it to the home screen for convenience. Step 4. Tap on Notification Log icon on the home screen to launch it and locate WhatsApp inside it. Step 5. Select the conversation to find the deleted messages where ‘android.text’ is written.
Limitations –
There are few limitations with all these methods. If any message has been deleted by the system, you will see “This message has been deleted”. The system saves the deleted messages for a few hours. It also deletes them when you reboot your device. You can see only the first 100 characters of the deleted message. All these methods work perfectly on Android Nougat and above. There are conflicts reports about these working on Android Marshmallow. Delete media files cannot be retrieved by any means
