The OxygenOS 12 is the latest custom skin from OnePlus based on Android 12. While the brand has released OxygenOS 12 beta program for the Nord CE 2, it has already started working on Android 13. OnePlus 10 Pro will be the company’s first phone to get Android 13 through the Developer Preview program. It is important to note that the closed beta program is nowhere near the stable version. It is prone to have bugs that can affect many functionalities on the device. Hence, we advise you not to test any builds on your primary phone. In a OnePlus community forum post, the company mentions that “To make sure the OxygenOS 12 stable build is available to all of the users as early as possible, we tweaked the CBT strategies on all of the OxygenOS 12 CBT programs.”

Further the forum post reads “Unlike the previous long-term CBT, this will be a short-term Closed Beta Project (usually only a few builds are released), focusing on improving the upcoming OxygenOS 12 for the OnePlus Nord CE 2“. It means that the stable build will arrive earlier than it usually arrives after going though closed beta program. OnePlus will accept only 200 applications for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 OxygenOS 12 Close Beta program. If your application gets selected, OnePlus will send you a beta package within few days. To prevent data loss, make sure to take a complete backup before installing the beta build.
