The new software update for Galaxy A12 is currently rolling out in Guatemala which can be identified by firmware version A125MUBS1BUG3. On the other hand, we have Galaxy A9 (2018) which is receiving its new update in Brazil with firmware version A920FXXU5CUG4. The new OTA update for both the phone should start heading to other regions pretty soon. The July 2021 security patch fixes 41 CVEs (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) from Google and 8 SVEs from Samsung, which improves system security and privacy. It’s good to see the 3 year old Galaxy A9 receiving July 2021 security patch so early. 

If you are a Galaxy A12 or Galaxy A9 (2018) user in the specified region, then you might have already received the update. If you haven’t, then manually update your phone by heading to Settings » Software updates and then tap on Download and Install. Samsung released the Galaxy A9 (2018) three year ago which came pre-installed with Android 8 Oreo. Thanks to the two major OS upgrades, the device is running Android 9 Pie. Unfortunately, it will not receive any further major OS upgrades. The Galaxy A12 was launched last year with Android 10 onboard and received Android 11 upgrade a few months ago.
